At Ferndale school we endeavor to provide a truly special education that is as individual and creative as our students. Family involvement in deciding learning goals is a key part of our programme as we look to provide a rounded but specific education for each student. Our school motto,
“The Best I Can Be” applies to students and staff alike as we all endeavor to reach our full potential. At Ferndale school we have a wide variety of teaching environments and learning programmes and to allow us to truly meet the needs of each student.
A special education environment is not for everyone and often a supportive mainstream school can be the best option for a young person. Ferndale school can support an ORRS student in the mainstream with our SEIT itinerant teacher service to mainstream schools.
We believe that there are students who need the specialised environment, teaching approaches, behavior management strategies and vision that is Ferndale school to truly meet their potential and we advocate for true parent and student choice at all ages with the child/young person as the paramount consideration.
