Ferndale school has 3 Team Teach tutors on our full time staff. This on site expertise allows us to introduce a holistic behavior support programme to our entire staff as part of in service training.

Team Teach is:

Training in positive handling strategies through a whole setting holistic approach to managing difficult, disturbing, & sometimes dangerous behaviors.


Team-Teach is the largest provider of training for mainstream, special, child and increasingly adult services in the UK. There are over 1, 500 Tutors having taught between them over 400, 000 people principally across a wide range of care, education and health service settings, promoting a multi-disciplinary approach between education, social services and health.

The training has evolved from a residential care, education and health background working with service users with a variety of emotional, social, behavioral, learning, communication and medical needs.

Team-Teach provides: a 6 hour Foundation Course (low risk), a 12 hour Basic course (medium risk) and where supported through evidenced health and safety needs Advanced Modules (high risk).

All staff at Ferndale School have access to the 12 hour (medium risk) programme supported by ongoing refreshers, practice sessions and further specific training as required.
